Changes to Glastonbury Festival ticket sale as ‘virtual queue’ confirmed

Glastonbury Festival has announced a completely new ticketing system for 2025.
Instead of refreshing the page to secure tickets, fans will now join a virtual queue. Here is everything you need to know about the ticketing changes:
Virtual queue details
Once on the landing page, prospective ticket buyers receive a random spot in the virtual queue.
Anyone who logs in after sales begin will be placed at the back of the queue. Refreshing the browser or using multiple devices will move them to the back.
Registration requirement
You must be registered to buy a tickets – this is to help prevent ticket touting.
The registration deadline is 11 November at 5 pm. No new or updated registrations will be allowed after this date until ticket sales are complete.
Reaction from punters
Fans of the festival have been quick to comment their reaction to the changes to ticket sales this year.
One said: “Its a shame imo, even if it was always sort of flawed. I liked that persistence was rewarded even if it was luck still.
“People logging on just to have a look at what’s happening but who aren’t really that bothered can potentially get them now. The chance of that before was slim.”
Another wrote: “I don’t know anyone who has joined a queue system before start time that has been randomly put in the queue to actually get tickets, so don’t hold out much hope! The queues don’t seem random.”
And one added: “It’s sailing towards the same problems as the Oasis sale. It’s could also give a further leg up to the more tech savvy out there too.”
But one commented: “It might make the resale more worthwhile. Casual buyers will not go for full price once they see the line up.”
